(April 9, 2003) “Metaphysical Landscapes” is a collection of visionary abstract images including paintings, drawings, and a limited edition of original fine art lithographs.
“These images explore the inner worlds, as well as the creation and destruction of memory, continents and civilizations,” writes Dowbenko. “Teeming with an otherworldly energy, they are also the visual constructs that describe lost memories and hidden history. Now that the spiritual quest has become a more common metaphor for life itself, this artwork can be seen as a meditation and a visual representation of the etheric realms.”
“The concept of multiple dimensions, which co-exist within and beyond the planes of time and space, is also a major theme of this work,” says the artist. “These are some of the many realities we encounter during our journey through life.”
Besides paintings, drawings and watercolors, the exhibit will feature the release of a limited edition of Uri Dowbenko’s original fine art lithographs (signed and numbered) called “Portals of Light” (2003). Printed on Coventry (290 grain vellum, 100% rag, white acid free paper) in a limited edition of 175 with 20 Artist Proofs, this abstract visionary image is 35″ x 46″ and is now available to art collectors.
